The plan is to collaborate with two-year and four-year colleges, so NHTIA students will have the opportunity to earn college credits while in high school. Students will be able to finish at least one semester of college credits by the time they graduate from NHTIA.
NHTIA is planning to establish a technology lab which enables the NHTIA team to integrate experiential learning into the curriculum and provide hands-on opportunities for the students to work on real world projects.
To ignite entrepreneurial mindset among students, students will take one course in small business management and one course in entrepreneurship during the junior or senior year. In addition to offering these courses, the plan is to have a contest annually and award $1,000 as seed money to 1-3 students who have a business idea and want to pursue the idea further.
Students at NHTIA will take at least one course in technology and/or innovation each year. Technology courses offered will be market-driven courses to ensure that students are prepared for a career in technology and/or continuing their higher education in technology fields. The goal is to offer some of the high school courses as dual credit courses. This means that students who successfully complete those courses, will receive credits to meet both their high school graduation requirements and earn college credits at the same time.
The following is a list of possible technology and innovation courses that will be offered:
